Introduction The Maya are a native Mesoamerican people who developed one of the most sophisticated cultures in the Western Hemisphere before the arrival of the Spanish. My Wiki will focus on some of the religious beliefs of the Maya people to better understand how Maya religious beliefs and practices shaped everyday life. I will do this by taking a look into the traditional aspects of Maya beliefs in two ways. First by outlining various nature gods, and second by looking at the rituals performed by focusing on divination and human sacrifice. Lastly I will take a look into some aspects of Maya religion that survive today among the remaining Maya people of Mesoamerica.
